This is a truly stunning authentic lady's haori jacket handmade in Japan in around 1960's entirely from silk (including the lining). The outer silk is heavier and the lining silk is lightweight. There is a slight gradation in the background colour of the haori. It is darker red towards the hem and becomes lighter, salmon pink/red towards the top. The pattern features delicate cherry tree branches with first spring blossoms here and there and thousands of white spots as if a snowstorm or petals flying carried by the wind.
Haoris are lightweight jackets meant to be worn over kimonos and ususally not meant to be fastened or tied. This haori has no ties but there are two small fabric hoops on the inside front where ties may be attached. No matter which way you choose to wear your haori, either as a dressing gown or a light jacket, you will not want to hide it away!
The haori has been professionally dry cleaned. It is in very good condition.
