Soviet table clock, vintage wind up Mayak mantle clock, black glass chunky round clock, 1950s art deco clock, office desk clock.
The decorative body of the clock is made from heavy, chunky black pressed glass. The clock mechanism casing is round, the white face is framed with a gold-tone metal, same metal as the hands of the clock. large arabic numerals in a modernist type, in black colour.
The face is marked with the words "Mayak" and SCHZ (Mayak Clock Factory operating since 1940s in the town of Serdobsk in South-West Russia).

EXTERIOR CONDITION: good used:: the glass pedestal and the face of he clock have no damages. the casing has minor surface scratches. some loss of paint at the top of the casing.
MECHANISM: We tested the clock for a few days and it works, is fitted with a wind-up mechanism, and according to the writing on the back of the clock it is a 11 jewel clock which is intended to run for 7 days, and is of 2nd class of accuracy. It has a soft quiet ticking.
